A
system of medicine using specially prepared remedies from herb, mineral
and animal origins. The remedies are extremely gentle and have no
side effects. Homeopathy works by stimulating your own healing energy
rather than suppressing symptoms. Typically a course of treatment
is only 3 tablets and then we wait a few days or weeks to assess the
response. In addition to homeopathic remedies herbs, nutritional advice,
and supplements are used.
The first consultation is 1hr during
which we get to know you as well as possible in order to find the
correct remedy to treat you with. Questions will include a full
medical history, what your favourite foods are, how you sleep, your
dreams if you remember them, is there are time of day you feel better
or worse, what is your energy like, when did your current symptoms
start and what else was happening in your life at that time. Follow-up
consultations are usually once a month and last 45 minutes.
Liz Jeannet is an experienced homoeopath
and is accustomed to treating a wide range of diseases. The conditions
she treats most regularly are
Arthritis
Allergies
Cancer support
Irritable bowel and food intolerance
Anxiety and depression
Menopausal symptoms
Sleeplessness
Tiredness
Eczema and other skin problems
The remedy usually comes in the form
of tablets which should be dissolved slowly under the tongue 20
minutes away from food, drink, or cigarettes. If possible avoid
coffee, mint, menthol, eucalyptus and cloves while you are receiving
treatment. These antidote some homeopathic remedies. Liz may also
suggest changes to your diet and will tell you which nutritional
supplements will benefit your condition.
After taking the remedy you should
feel a gradual increase in energy and a lessening of your symptoms.
Some people experience a temporary slight worsening of symptoms
e.g. a headache, or skin rash. This is the effect of the homeopathy
stimulating your body to heal itself and is therefore a good sign.
The symptoms will be mild and should not last more than 2 days.
It is useful if you make a few notes of how you feel to bring to
your next consultation.
